where I want to be in 10 years

Hi Guys!

So  carrying on with my 30 day blog challenge and the next one (in case you haven't already guessed from the title) is where do you see yourself in 10 years.

I really like this question because it makes me reflect on things which have happened in the past and where I thought I would have ended up 10 years ago.
I mean 10 years ago I was 11 and wanted to be a nurse, hairdresser, rocket scientist and in my spare time; a horse trainer.
Over the years only really the horse training stuck, I was hooked on horses. I remember first seeing them on TV and thinking how powerful they were and how easily they trusted their rider, I wanted that. I wanted to put my whole faith into these huge animals. I started riding when I was 9 and I never wanted to do anything else.
I carried on my horsey dream into college where I studied 2 courses in equine management and even went on to study equine in university; it didn't work out and when I left university I spent some time in India training horses and it was amazing. But the time there was cut short and I came back and ended up gaining loads of weight which meant I couldn't ride. Instead of losing the weight I just ate more due to being fed up that I couldn't ride. It was always the plan to get back into it and do it again but I never had the motivation and so I got stuck in call centers and honestly hated it.
I tried sales and various other things but I still wanted horses in my life, I tried applying but nobody would hire me because I didn't have the experience.  So I ended up back in another call center and honestly it's been the best thing for me.
I've let go of my horsey dream, this isn't how I imagined my life going but I still want horses in my life. Not as a career but I still want to own one, or a hundred.

So nowadays I'm still in the call center in car insurance (it's a freaking nightmare - parents need to chill really) but I've just been promoted into the IT department which I cannot wait for.

So when I get asked 'where do you see yourself in 10 years?' I honestly have no idea, I would like to imagine being a successful author or having a career in IT, I would be more than happy with both. The good thing is I can still do my writing and blogging while working in IT and progressing in that field so I'm not losing out on anything.
I'd also like to imagine I'd be married with kids and my own house and dogs and horses of course...let's keep that to ourselves though, I don't want to find a man shaped hole in the wall.

Life is a mystery and I didn't work hard enough for my career in equine, I won't make that mistake again.

What are your guys hopes and dreams for the next 10 years?

let me know in the comments below :D

Until next time :)

I've not yet embraced the fact next year I'm 30 lol let alone thinking about near 40 but it does give me stuff to think about..new stages and working towards goals and progress in my personal and professional life.

Hmmm, I never really think too far in the future as it usually leads to increased stress and anxiety for me. I recently got married, but we have also experienced two miscarriages... Even though I already have two kids, I'd like to think that the next 10 years will see me add another one to the family. I'd also like to think that I will have finally completed my PhD and be well on the road to a successful career in pharmaceutics! :)

Life is a mystery and no one knows where we will end up. I haven't a clue where I will be in 10 years. All i do hope for is to be happy and healthy.

I would like to think I am in my own place and starting a family within the next 10 years. I can't even remember what I was doing 10 years ago though!

Being a successful author would be so great wouldn't it!! Its a dream of mine also! I'd also love to have built my own house in ten years but I try not to plan too far ahead!

This is a great post. It's so hard to set a life plan, even only 10 years away. I had a dream job plan in my head since I was a child, and I think I might be heading in a different direction completely now!

I find it so hard to think about where I want to be in 10 years. I would rather just keep going and doing things that make me happy than try and have it all planned out.

We often are so concentrated on the current tasks, that we forget to look at the bigger picture. It's good to make plans and think where you want to be in 10 years time, so you don't lose focus of your bigger goals :)
