So I decided to focus on books that aren't the first thing you hear about when you mention books. You know what I mean, The Hunger Games, Divergent, Harry Potter etc etc...you already know those books are amazing.
I wanted to share with you amazing writing that I know I myself relate to so much. So I chose this book because first of all the title. Fan Girl, I am a huge fan girl of so many things and instantly I thought 'what is she a fan girl of?' that and the fact that she's writing on a laptop that says 'A Novel' made it clear she's an aspiring author which I also relate to. The main character is a twin and her sister is somewhat of a rebel. Her sister is always trying to be unique and get away from the whole 'identical twin' thing. The main character, Cath has always relied on her sister being there. Again something I can relate to because I am one hell of a clingy mofo. Cath is a creative writer. She follows this series of books and writes fan fiction obsessively, she's too wrapped up in the fantasy world that she doesn't notice when a goofy guy, Levi is interested in her. One thing I loved about this book is it wasn't the girl hopelessly in love with the guy trying to win his heart, it's a story of a girl who doesn't know how to be loved. She is so innocent and naive that she literally just cannot fathom how to act in a relationship. Levi is a kind and caring guy, he's the chaser in this story but as always there is a twist to it. Now the thing is, I wanted to hate the guy. After what he did I really did want to hate him. But as the book progressed it became difficult and suddenly I found myself rooting for him, for them. One of the reasons why I liked this book so much is because the main character, Cath was awkward. She was not a beautiful, delicate flower who always had guys chasing after her. She is strange and quirky and plain looking. But like it normally is, to one guy, she was beautiful. I thought the book was awesome. I felt the characters were real people rather than these amazingly beautiful people who had the worst pasts ever which haunted their every step. No, it's not like that. I felt like they were the kind of people who I would actually like to know. Each and every one of them had different issues and quirks and reminded me so much of how people could actually be and it didn't feel like the fantasy world I half expected. All in all I loved this book and that's why I chose it for my first review. I hope you guys decide to pick it up and give it a go, you won't regret it. If you want to see a review on any books in particular leave a comment below and I will expand my book shelf. Thanks guys, until next time :D
